The Role

We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Specialist to join a growing Digital Products function. This is a senior, highly strategic, yet hands-on role where you will act as the central subject-matter expert on applied AI across the digital portfolio. You will be responsible for researching, prototyping and integrating modern AI capabilities into high-performing core software products, while also driving AI-assisted engineering productivity and shaping the company’s wider AI governance and strategy

What You'll Be Doing

  • Researching and evaluating emerging AI technologies, including LLMs, machine learning frameworks, sophisticated voice-processing AI services, and developer productivity tools
  • Designing, prototyping, and validating AI-enabled features through structured proof-of-concepts to enhance product functionality and automation
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional development, testing, and product teams to integrate robust, secure, and cost-effective AI solutions into the software portfolio
  • Introducing and establishing guidelines for AI-assisted coding, debugging, and documentation tools to enhance engineering workflows and measure productivity gains
  • Contributing expert advice to leadership to help formulate robust AI strategy, security policies, data privacy compliance, and governance frameworks
  • Ensuring all AI implementations meet high-quality development principles, remain easily maintainable, and mitigate any systemic or operational risks

Skills and Experience We're Looking For

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a deeply related technical discipline.
  • Proven commercial experience working with modern AI tools, LLM APIs, machine learning frameworks, sophisticated voice processing services, and integrating AI capabilities into complex software systems
  • A strong, practical background in software development engineering, with a solid understanding of modern software practices within agile development environments
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, introducing, and training engineering teams on AI-assisted developer productivity tools
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying high-value, practical applications for emerging technologies
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical AI concepts clearly to executive, product, and non-technical stakeholders
