A large New Zealand business is looking to appoint a commercially focused FP&A specialist into a key role supporting across the group.
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this position partners closely with the CFO, GMs, and operational leaders, providing financial insight, forecasting, analysis, and decision support across the business.
This is a broad role with strong visibility across the organisation and genuine long-term career opportunities.
The Role
This position sits at the intersection of finance, commercial partnering, and data.
You’ll work across budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and strategic decision support, while also spending significant time engaging with stakeholders across the business. Strong systems, reporting, and data capability are important, with established processes and infrastructure already in place to enable value-add commercial work rather than purely transactional reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial planning, forecasting, and analysis
- Commercial partnering with operational and executive stakeholders
- Delivering insights to support business performance and decision making
- Supporting continuous improvement across systems, reporting, and planning processes
- Interpreting and working with large data sets to drive meaningful outcomes
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys FP&A and commercial finance, is naturally curious, and has a strong understanding of systems and data.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or finance business partnering
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A high level of commercial acumen and self-sufficiency
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
- Confidence working with systems, databases, and financial models
- Experience with Planning Analytics (TM1), Hyperion, HFM, or similar forecasting / BI tools is advantageous
Candidates who are CA / CPA qualified, coming from a mix of Big Four and commercial experience will be viewed favourably, however this is not essential. More important is the ability to operate independently, build relationships, and contribute commercially within a large and complex environment.
