The Opportunity

The Digital Team is looking for a Tech Lead to partner directly with the CTO in defining and delivering the company's new platform. This is a build, not a maintenance job — you're stepping into a greenfield environment on a modern stack (Supabase, Node.js, React, and the Claude API), with real latitude to shape technical direction rather than inherit someone else's architecture.

As the most senior developer on the team, you'll set the engineering quality bar and progressively take on greater ownership of technical decisions as the platform and team mature. You're joining a capable crew that needs more depth and senior firepower to deliver on an ambitious digital roadmap — and the scope of this role is designed to grow as they do.

The Day-to-Day

Expect to split your time between hands-on building and technical leadership. You'll work alongside the CTO on platform architecture and the technical roadmap, making and documenting the decisions that shape how the product comes together. That means designing the data model and security posture in Supabase (RLS, Auth, Edge Functions), owning the CI/CD pipeline through GitHub and Vercel, and integrating the Claude API into product features — prompt design, tool use, streaming and all.

There's a strong people element too. You'll lead code review, mentor developers across the team, and run sprint planning alongside the Product Manager. When needed, you'll step in to facilitate the team's ceremonies — this is a team that treats sprint goals as a shared outcome, not a personal scoreboard, and the Tech Lead sets that tone.

What You'll Need

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a tech lead, principal or staff capacity
• Strong React (hooks, state management), Node.js and TypeScript
• Hands-on Supabase experience — Postgres, RLS, Edge Functions, Auth
• Solid REST/API design fundamentals
• Confident with Git/GitHub workflows and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Vercel)
• Experience shipping and operating a production SaaS application
• Claude API or broader LLM integration experience (highly regarded)
• Prior experience leading a small engineering team (a bonus)
• Exposure to infrastructure and DevOps practices

The Right Fit

Someone decisive under ambiguity — willing to make a call and own it — who can break down complex problems and drive them through to resolution. You'll bring initiative without going off on tangents, pragmatic judgement about when to move fast and when to slow down for quality, and the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to both the CTO and non-technical stakeholders. A genuine mentor's mindset and a team-first attitude matter here as much as the technical depth.
